Prep-obsessed painters. Surprisingly pleasant to have around.
We're a small Plymouth crew that believes the boring parts of painting — the sanding, the patching, the priming — are the whole job. The paint is just the reward.
Named for the light at Gurnet Point.
Beacon Painting Co. started in 2016 with two lifelong friends, one borrowed van, and a shared irritation: too many South Shore paint jobs peeling after a single winter. Nate Ellis had spent a decade painting historic homes; Marcus Cole had spent nearly as long fixing other crews' shortcuts. They figured a company that refused to skip the boring steps would never run out of work.
They were right. Ten years on, we're a tight six-person crew — no revolving subcontractors, no mystery painters. The people who quote your job are the people who show up with brushes. We're licensed and insured, we return calls, and we keep the kind of schedule that lets you plan your life.
The name? On a clear night you can see Plymouth Light out at Gurnet Point doing its one job perfectly, every single time. That felt like the right standard to sign up for.

The crew
Three more full-time painters — zero subs
Five steps. No shortcuts. Ever.
Ninety percent of a perfect finish happens before the lid comes off the can. Here's exactly what you're paying for.
-
The walk-through
We measure every surface, talk color and finish, flag anything that needs repair, and leave you a written quote with a real start date. No vague ranges, no surprise line items later.
-
Protect everything
Floors papered and taped, furniture wrapped, fixtures bagged, switch plates off — not taped over. Your house gets dressed for surgery before a single tool comes out.
-
Prep like we mean it
Scrape, sand, patch, skim, spot-prime. Every crack chased, every gloss surface dulled, every stain sealed. This is the slowest step, and it's the reason our work still looks new in year five.
The step everyone else rushes -
Paint, properly
Two full coats of premium paint — never one thick one. Lines cut by steady hands, not tape and hope. Sprayed where spraying wins, brushed where brushing does.

The reveal
We walk every room with you, fix anything on the punch list on the spot, and leave the place cleaner than we found it. You sign off when you're happy — not when we're tired.
The 2-year touch-up guarantee.
Life happens to walls — a moving-day scuff, a settling crack over a doorway, a chip where the dog says hello. For two full years after your project, we come back and touch it up. Free, no fine print, no eye-rolling. Your walls should look like day one for a lot longer than a day.
